Four

So this past week has been pretty eventful in our little household.  Friday marked the culmination of a four-month long endeavor called Seussical (insert little copyright logo here), Jr.  Jeremy teaches the little kiddos at the school he works at, but he sponsors the Middle School Drama Club.  The drama club combined with the Elementary School Chorus and took up singing, dancing, and Seussing for four crazy months.  Their show debuted for the students on Tuesday (two shows) at school, and for parents and the community on Friday (two shows), off-campus at a nursing home.  The nursing home had a better stage than my high school.  And the whole home was beautiful.  It was crazy.

Anyway, all of the kids did an awesome job and I think they blew everyone away by their performances.  Everyone is excited for next year and we're all super proud of the students.  I'm also proud of Jeremy for making it through four months of teaching, rehearsals 1-2 (or 4 at the end) times per week, and life with an infant.  He's Superman for sure.

And in the spirit of Dr. Seuss, Baby G and I read Oh, the Places You'll Go, the pop-up edition.  Thanks, Uncle Jeff! 

It has really awesome pictures, but Baby G will just get to look rather than touch for a little while.  

Jeremy's mom has been coming to stay with us during the week so she can stay home with Baby G while Jeremy is at rehearsal in the afternoons and I'm at work.  It has been a huge help, and we have enjoyed having family around more often.  Baby G has enjoyed spending time with his grandma, too.

My parents also came to visit this weekend, and Baby G was happy he got to spend time with them.

And amidst all of the craziness, we've decided to go green!  Well, greener.  We are in the process of making our own cloth napkins out of old T-shirts.

So far we've only cut up three of my shirts--one of which still need to be made into napkins--and Jeremy has three or four on deck.  With two or three napkins per shirt, that's like... 12-21 napkins... about a week's worth if we use them for every meal!  We've also made some of the scraps into rags and hope to make "paper towels" (a.k.a. bigger napkins to be used in place of throw-away towels) the next time we clean out our closet.  

The flowers we planted in the front yard two weeks ago are still alive, that's sort of green, right?  

Next task: planting herbs!  (If anyone knows what we should plant during summer planting season, any suggestions would be welcomed!) I'll let you know how that goes once we get them planted and they either thrive or die, fingers crossed for the former!
